Congratulations to Sara on being nominated for March's Manager Of The Month! Get to know Sara:

How long have you worked for Concord Pet?

I’ve worked for Concord pet about 9 years or so. I’m not exactly sure – I figure that I’ll know when I get my 10 year commemorative trophy at the company Christmas party.

What pets do you have and what are their names?

I have 3 cats – Murray, Momo, Boosh and 1 African Grey Parrot names Metoo

What are your product picks for your pet?

I am a big fan of Elm Cat food, Concord Pet Cleaning Supplies, K&H Double kitty sill, Lafebers’ parrot pellets

What’s your favorite part about your store?

I don’t know that there’s any one part that I like the best – it just all kind of congealed together into something that is really special to me. I have a great clientele, and I love that they allow me to be a small part of their lives. My staff always has my back, and I’m incredibly proud to say that they always support me no matter what hair brained idea I come up with. I also love how tight knit our company is – some of my best friends are in this company, and I know that the owners are always a call away if I need anything.

Before working at Concord Pet, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

To be honest, most of my jobs were pretty boring. I did volunteer for Tri State Bird Rescue for several years though (they’re a wonderful organization, you should check them out!). I helped hand feed baby songbirds, and I assisted with a few different aspects of raptor care.

Where is your hometown?

Wilmington, DE

What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?

I enjoy gardening, reading, and photography.

If you were an animal what would you be?

Definitely a cat – there is nothing better than a good nap in a sunbeam.

Any random facts you could share with us?

Throughout college I was a photographer for the school newspaper to earn a little extra money on the side. I started saving my photography to a spare external hard drive my dad had laying around. It was something that I really enjoyed (I’d like to think I was pretty good) and to this day I have several hard drives dedicated to my photography. I don’t do anything with the photos – they’re not on Facebook or any social media sites – but I still like to go through, add to my collection, and edit as needed.

Favorite travel spot?

Every year my fiancée and I go hiking in a national park. I’ve been fortunate enough to go to some amazing locations, but I think my favorite so far has been the Grand Tetons out in Wyoming.

What are you currently watching on Netflix or another Streaming Service?

G.L.O.W., McMillions, The Sopranos (I’m a few years late on that one – don’t ruin it for me!)

What is your secret talent that nobody knows about?

I’m pretty good at winning those “guess how many items are in this jar” games.
